The legendary Rob Garrett’s “KING OF DIAMONDS” Vegas residency show CONTINUES ON in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.
Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.
In addition to being one of the best-selling and concert drawing artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the songs of a generation — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In early 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences across the globe through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.
Ask Google “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll hear the same name.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In May 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, at age 16, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett formed his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before transitioning from cover band frontman to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.
In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by Paul Revere (of The Raiders) to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.
What was meant to be a limited run turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to go independent.
He began a nationwide performance schedule, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues that typically host major artists.
Garrett has also won numerous awards, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Show Las Vegas family friendly doing,” he said.
On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in this year, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., about a quarter mile from Paradise Road.
